Briolettes have always been a favorite cut of mine – I am infinitely fascinated by the prism-like faceting, and how the diamond catches light and colors as it sways with movement. One of the oldest diamond cuts, *Napoleon Bonaparte presented a 263 ct diamond briolette necklace to his empress consort, Marie Louise in 1811. It featured 19 oval- and pear-shaped briolette-cut diamonds.”
